What We Believe

The Bible
The Scriptures, both the Old Testament and New Testaments, are the inspired Word of God and are the only true written Word from God to Man. The Bible is the infallible and authoritative rule for faith and conduct. (Heb. 4:12; 2 Tim. 3:15-17; 2 Pet. 1:21; 1 Thes. 2:13)

The One True God
There is One True God, Creator of heaven and earth and Redeemer of mankind. He is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. He is the self-existent, eternal, immutable I Am. He is Jehovah God and He has revealed Himself in three persons (The Trinity) the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. (Duet. 6:4; Ex. 3:14, Is. 43:10-11, 48:16; Matt. 28:19; Luke 3:22)

The Father
We are invited to have a relationship with God as our Father, as indicated by Jesus. (Matt. 5:9; Eph. 4:6)

The Son
The Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God and the second person in the Trinity. He is the only begotten Son of God, The Word made flesh. The Scriptures declare His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, signs, and wonders, His substitutionary death on the cross, His resurrection from the dead and His exaltation to the right hand of God the Father.(Matt. 1:23; Luke 1:31,35; Heb. 7:26; 1 Pet. 2:22; Acts 2:22, 10:38; 1 Cor. 15:3; 2 Cor. 5:21; Matt. 28:6; Luke 24:39; 1 Cor. 15:4; Acts 1:9, 2:33; Phil. 2:9-11; Heb.1:3)

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the ministry of Holy Spirit to glorify Christ, to convict men of sin, righteousness, and judgment and to empower the believer.
(John 15:26; John 16:8; Acts 1:8)

The Need for A Savior
Every person matters to God and we are all created in His image. We were created to be in relationship with God but through willful disobedience, we became separated from God. Mankind, though his own choice, ignored God’s instructions and did what he knew was wrong and evil. His actions allowed sin to enter the world resulting in both physical and spiritual death and eternal separation from God.(Gen. 1:26-27, 2:17, 3:6-24; Rom. 3:10, 23, 5:12-19)

Salvation
God provided a way for mankind to be delivered from spiritual death and the enslavement of sin. We call that being saved. God provided salvation for all who believe and accept His free offer of forgiveness. The Bible declares that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. This is the “new birth” and when you make the decision to accept what Jesus did for you, your sins are forgiven and you are no longer separated from God. You are a new creation, your sins are gone and you have a new nature. You have been restored to a right relationship with God. You have a new life and you will spend eternity in heaven. Salvation is a free gift from God. You can’t earn it by good works or any human effort. You have to believe it and receive it by grace through faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. (Luke 24:47; John 3:3; Rom 10:9-10; Eph. 2:8)

Repentance
When you make the commitment to accept Jesus as your Savior and Lord, you are exchanging your old ways for His ways. We call this repentance. Repentance is turning away from sin and going in the opposite direction. It’s a change of heart, attitude and mind towards God where we choose to live for Him rather than ourselves. (Rom. 8:16; Eph. 4:24; Titus 2: 11-14)

Water Baptism

We believe water baptism, by immersion, is a declaration of our identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.
(Matthew 28:18-19; Romans 6:4; Hebrews 10:22)

Empowerment of Believers

The indwelling of Holy Spirit enables believers to live holy and minister supernaturally. We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, with speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance, to be the initial evidence of this experience. We believe in the operation of the nine Gifts of the Spirit and encourage our people to live so that these gifts may be manifest in their lives.
(Acts 2:4;  Acts 19:6; John 14:12; 1 Cor. 12:4-11)

Communion

We believe the regular taking of Communion is, for believers, an act of remembering what the Lord Jesus did for us on the cross.
(Luke 22:19-20; 1 Cor. 11:26)

The Sanctity of Marriage

God created the first marriage as a sacred covenant relationship between one man and one woman for the purposes of procreation, companionship, and dominion over creation, in keeping with the covenant relationship God himself established with his own creation. Jesus blessed the marriage celebration between a man and a woman with his presence and his first public miracle, thereby affirming the traditional definition of marriage as a cornerstone of every culture and community. (Genesis 2:15-24; Romans 1:16-32)

The Final Judgment
There will be a final judgment in which the wicked dead will be raised up according to their works. Those who have not accepted the redemptive work of Jesus Christ will suffer eternal separation for God. The devil and his angels, the beast and the false prophet, and anyone whose name is not found written in the Book of Life will be consigned to everlasting punishment in the Lake of Fire which burns with fire and brimstone. This is the second death.
